Family Journeys – Originals

Family Journeys symbolises exploring out on Country with family, spending time with each other in the company of all that Country has to offer. During this time, I often pay attention to the smaller things in the landscape and map out country as if I’m a bird flying over my path and converting real life objects in to Aboriginal symbolism. My kids are beginning to do this too, and I can tell that my stories and culture will be safe with them as we continue through life. The meeting place represents family, though there are several more people in this circle than usual on our walks, I find myself thinking a lot about the people who walked on Country before me. I acknowledge the traditional custodians and honour the ancestors who continue to sing this Country.
