Pathways Pink

Pathways is reminiscent of my childhood journeys, looking for and following different pathways around my home, on bush walks and out on country. Following a new pathway each time, I am enticed by the finer details in the landscape. I pay attention to the smaller things and map out country as if I’m a bird flying over my path and converting real life objects in to Aboriginal symbolism. I find myself thinking a lot about the people who walked these pathways before me and acknowledge the traditional custodians in every step I take on my journeys.

This piece works with a number of colour gradients that reflect the country around my home and the path being exposed to represent the multitude of tracks and journeys across our lifetime.
